You've never heard anyone play like this before
How would you describe your music style, in non-technical terms?
House, Tech-House, Deep-House, Progressive (For more commercial events)
How and why did you decide to become a DJ?
I'm a music producer - Have always been playing different instruments since I was a kid. Got in to Vinyl 10 years ago for fun. Once I moved to NYC end of 2009, I decided to give it a stab professionally and it just stuck.
Tell us a bit about your fans.
I have a very loyal fan base. I don't spin all the time so when I do everyone comes to see me play. I can pull a few hundred people in to a venue if it's a strong club like I listed above. My trade mark is playing uplifting vocals with hard drops. I'm always mixing on 3 channels most of the time.
What are your top 3 influences? Doesn't have to musical.
Carl Cox - He's extremely creative when he plays. I hate watching a lazy dj and Carl Cox is one of this people who puts the blood, sweat, and tears in to his production.
Michael Calfan - He's more of an influence production wise. He knows how to make influential melodies without succumbing to being too mainstream. His mixes are full of underground sounds. He's def my music lately in the studio.
Oliver Helden - Amazing deep house/house artists who stays true to himself and has helped pave the way to mainstream underground music.
What is your favorite festival, why?
ADE - In Amsterdam, it's the BEST festival! It's what WMC used to be. It's a real networking festival and is actually beneficial for my career. I go every year.
